The Legend of the Fifth Kitty

FifthKitty is named after our fifth cat, Thomas. That should tell you everything you need to know about our judgment.

We're a family business in Michigan, and we met Thomas while volunteering at a local shelter. He came with a rare medical condition, a prognosis nobody wanted to say out loud, and a surgery estimate that could've bought a used car. The sensible move was to wish him well and walk away.

So naturally, we adopted him, started a t-shirt company, and bet the whole thing on keeping him alive.

It worked. Thomas is alive, thriving, and completely unaware of what he put us through, which feels about right for a cat. Every shirt and animal lover gift our customers buy helped get him here. We design every one ourselves and print them in the USA, because if we're going to put a raccoon in a tiny hat on a shirt, we'd like to be in the room when it happens.

And because one rescued cat is never enough, we support the Michigan Humaine Society with a monthly donation. Somewhere out there is the next Thomas, running up a vet bill, waiting for someone with bad financial judgment and a big heart. We'd like to help cover it.
